TAP Gives Back

TAP Gives Back was established many years ago as part of TAP Dance to create an annual effort by TAP Partners and PPTPs to raise funds in order to enhance the lives of local residents. Traditionally, the charity was selected from the city hosting TAP’s Annual General Meetings. Beginning in 2022, we now select a charity based in the TAP Dance host city. To date, TAP Gives Back has raised $139,110 for local charities.

This year, the organization selected from our host city is Creative Kids, a nationally recognized creative youth development nonprofit based in El Paso, Texas. For more than 25 years, Creative Kids has empowered under-resourced youth in the El Paso border region and Southern New Mexico through the transformative power of the arts. Serving more than 1,200 young people annually, the organization provides safe, inspiring spaces where creativity becomes a pathway to healing, resilience, and self-expression.

Many of the youth served by Creative Kids face significant challenges, including poverty, limited access to formal education, illness, trauma, or involvement with the juvenile justice system. Through hands-on artistic experiences—ranging from visual arts and multimedia to culinary and therapeutic programs—Creative Kids helps students build confidence, process complex emotions, and discover their own potential. More than art instruction, the organization fosters a sense of belonging and equips young people with transferable life skills that support long-term personal growth.

By supporting Creative Kids, TAP Gives Back is investing in the future of a vibrant border community and helping ensure that young people who might otherwise be overlooked have access to creativity, compassion, and opportunity.
